The story of Johnny Emitt

The poultry industry in the United States is one of the most successful sectors in agriculture. In a little over 50 years, the U.S. broiler industry has evolved into an efficient and modern industry that produces high quality products for consumers all over the world.

In October 2005 Johnny Emitt launched his poultry business in West-Arkansas.

He installed 4 houses of 43 by 500 feet with Roxell equipment: from feed bin, Flex Auger, to HaiKoo pans.

In each house there are 25300 broilers raised to an end weight of 7 to 9 pounds.

According to Johnny the HaiKoo-pan with high anti-waste rim eliminates practically all feed waste. The oval shape of the HaiKoo-pan allows the broilers to optimally use the available house space whilst facilitating access to the drinking lines. The wide feed windows optimize the access to the feed which results in an optimal feed intake.

A year ago Johnny tested the new HaiKoo for heavy broilers. HaiKoo for heavy broilers holds twice the amount of feed compared with the standard HaiKoo-pan. Better access to the feed results in better growth results.

The Roxell specialists also installed a LED light in the control unit.

The LED light is positioned inside the control unit which ensures an optimal light dispersion inside the feeding pan. Attracting the birds to the control unit will guarantee a completely filled feeding line and feeding pans.

Johnny is convinced of the impact of this light and is already curious about the results of his next flock.
